Abstract:
The optimization of the sound environment is not only an important aspect of the sustainable development of city, but also an environment problem that should be considered seriously in the process of urbanization nowadays. In the developed countries the sound environment was destroyed firstly and then was controlled secondly. This phenomenon should be avoided in China and the original good soundscapes in city should be preserved carefully before the practice on noise control. In this study soundscape protection object and area will be firstly investigated through social survey in Tianjin. Secondly, protection level of different urban soundscapes will be rated according to the evaluation model constructed in this study. Thirdly, the indicator system that can represent the characteristic of urban soundscape and its varying range will be explored and the soundscape preservation method will be suggested from both acoustic and non-acoustic points of view. Finally, the dynamic protection model of urban soundscape will be set up preliminary. This study aims at pushing the practice of urban environment improvement as well as the soundscape theory, and it makes possible for people to listen to the sound of city.
