Abstract:
The project aims at the form generation mechanism and method by engaging the system’s intelligence and operating tools due to the fragmentation of various architecture design methods in Chinese architecture discourse. In order to build the open system framework of the method, the coupling between internal and external factors is being explored from three aspects: elements and integrity, internality and externality, subjectivity and objectivity. Firstly, the research will conduct logical derivation and demonstration through diagram and form analysis, then establishes a digital model database by applying the transformative diagram. Secondly, the research will extract and interpret external factors (which include natural elements in the physical environment and human elements in the population), by using methods of spatial analysis, physical performance simulation and applicable computer technology to establish a database of external factors of form generation. Thirdly, the research will establish interpretation and constraints of form generation with accordance to the inherent logic, then construct a system model of form and space operating in account of the external environment factors. Furthermore, the study will also set up optimizing methods of form generation and promote the architecture system of autonomy, openness and adapt ability to higher levels, simultaneously expand and amplify the connotation of architecture discipline.
