Dang Rui is a Professor of the School of Architecture in Tianjin University, in charge of supervising doctoral candidates, as well as serving as the Assistant to Dean and Deputy Director of the Institute of Architectural Technology and Science. His main research field is that of architectural technology and science. He is a member of the Core Expert Database of the Ministry of Science and Technology, and the China Illuminating Engineering Society; furthermore, he was selected as a Peiyang Young Scholar of Tianjin University, and is the Vice-President of the Lighting branch in the Tianjin University Research Institute of Architectural Design and Urban Planning. He is now mainly engaged with the teaching, research and engineering design of green buildings and light environment in buildings.
To date, his main achievements include: principal investigator in 11 scientific research projects; 9 National Invention Patents; 5 scientific reports in international conferences; 10 scientific reports in domestic conferences; 1 Second Prize of Science and Technology Progress Award in Tianjin (first completer), 1 First Prize of Education and Academic Contribution Award of CIES (first completer), 1 First Prize for “CIES Excellent Paper” (corresponding author), the title of Advanced Technological Worker in CIES; and co-author of 1 higher-education "Twelfth Five-Year Plan" national program textbook. He has also published 47 papers as either first or corresponding author, including 7 SCI papers and 7 EI papers.
Dr. Dang Rui received his Bachelor degree in Engineering from Chengdu University of Technology, and the Master and Doctor degrees from Tianjin University. He also visited Technische Universiteit Delft from 2014.06 to 2014.11.
