ZENG Peng is a Professor of Architecture, Vice Dean (Acadamic Research) of School of Architecture, Head of the Department of Urban Planning at School of Architecture, Tianjin University. He also serves as the director of the Institute of Small Towns Planning and Development (ISTPD) of the School.
His main research field is to reveal the spatial development patterns of small towns and villages, to answer how rural settlement could be planned and constructed, and to examine how urban areas could be renewed. He is teaching the ‘urban design’ studio, which pays much attention on the urban renew process in high population density areas and redevelopment of historical areas. His seminar course ‘urban green space planning’ pays much attention on the eco-environment protection during urban and rural planning process, as well as the spatial structure of urban green space. His recent research projects focus on the urban industrial land renew based on the GIS-CA system.
ZENG Peng hold the professional Bachelor and Master’s Degrees in Architecture and the Doctor of Engineering from Tianjin University. He studied at Cardiff University from 2015-2016 as a guest researcher. He visited Nottingham University in 2013 and TU Delft in 2014 as visiting scholar.
