Zhu Li is a Professor and doctoral supervisor of the School of Architecture, Tianjin University as well as the president of APEC Sustainable Energy Center (APSEC). She specializes in low carbon technologies, focusing on low carbon building design, new energy integration, and sustainable energy system planning for low carbon towns. She has written and published more than 130 papers in international and domestic journals. Her research results were applied in 62 practical projects and were granted 17 innovative patents.
As the first President of APSEC, she devotes her efforts to research and cooperation in the field of energy which was announced at the Leaders’ Meeting. With her guidance, APSEC focuses on establishing cooperation networks and creating flagship forums. In the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative, APSEC also promotes Chinese enterprises in the global market by integrating high-end talents to provide solid support to expand the Chinese influence in the international energy field.
Professor Li obtained her PhD degree from the School of Chemical Engineering and Technology, Tianjin University in 2005, and thereafter assumed the role of a lecturer at the School of Architecture at the same university she obtained her qualifications from. In 2012, she was selected as the New Century Talent of MOE. In 2016, she was selected as the Peiyang Young Scholar and visited Laurence Berkeley National Laboratory as a senior visiting scholar and the following year she became a doctoral supervisor in urban and rural planning and an engineering doctoral supervisor in energy and environmental protection.
