Dr. Song is an Architecture Technology lecturer at the School of Architecture, Tianjin University. His research fields are in three areas, damage to human eyes from WLED(White Light Emitting Diode). He received the patent of the quick text method of WLED damage. In this specific field, the further research is focused on the damage to elderly people with Cataract disease. The second field is a cooperation with the Chinese Academy of Sciences, an attempt to find out the spectrum of high value medicinal herbs with a growing need, for example LYCIUM CHINESE MILL, HERBA SAUSSUREAE INVOLUCRATAE or CROCUS SATIVUS L. The third field focuses on the light environment under the sea, because with lighting design in aquariums, it is important to know the illuminance and spectrum of light for the different fish or other living creatures living in that environment. The data for this is collected from diving into the various depths of the different areas at sea.
Dr. Song is also a Lighting designer. Light is described as his most favorite thing in the world. He believes that light can alter any environment, make people happy and cleanse the soul. His works include hotels, Spas, buildings, landscape and aquariums.
