Miao Zhantang is an Associate Professor at the School of Architecture of Tianjin University. He is also a national registered urban planner as well as the deputy director of the Architectural Technology Subcommittee of the Architectural Society of China. He is highly skilled in urban planning, and his main research areas include ecological infrastructure implementation and green building structural design (modern wood structure, dynamic building skin). His teaching responsibilities see Miao teaching the architectural design course, building structure, building technology and ecological building strategy courses, as well as carrying out various teaching tasks. In research, Miao Zhantang has published forty academic papers, 22 papers as the first author as well as 10 core papers also as the first author and three monographs. Miao Zhantang, has presided over more than 30 scientific research projects; including, six vertical subjects and one major horizontal project. Additionally, he has also participated in six vertical projects such as the National Natural Science Foundation, the National Key Technology R&D Program, the Ministry of Education Doctoral Fund, and the Tianjin Social Science Fund.
