Wu Cong is the Professor of the Institute of History and Theory, School of Architecture, Tianjin University. Wu received Ph. D degree and master degree from Tianjin University, and B.S degree from China University of Mining and Technology. He studied in Heriot-Watt University, Scotland as Visiting scholar for one year.
His research interests mainly focus on cultural / architectural heritage and its documentation / information management. As the chief project researcher, he won the key program of the Natural Science Foundation of China 3 times in recent 10 years. Professor Wu is the author of Measured Survey of Ancient Buildings (China Architectural Industry Press, 2006) and Beyond Projection: Architectural Graphics Research in Cultural Perspective (Tianjin University Press, 2004). He translated John Ward-Perkins'Roman Architecture (China Architectural Industry Press, 1999), and published more than 30 papers in various architectural academic journals. He has presided over and participated dozens of documentation, conservation and restoration projects for architectural heritage sites of national level or World Cultural Heritage sits. He won prizes at national, provincial or ministerial levels for teaching, research and conservation projects, esp. for documentation of heritage.
