Jia Weiyang is an Associate Professor of Art, Associate Head of the Accessible Design Institute at School of Architecture, Tianjin University. His main research fields are accessible design, and age-friendly plan & design. His seminar course ‘Barrier-free Design’ introduces the theories and design methods of general accessibility, and another course ‘Design Technology Basis’ introduces the theories and engineering technologies of environmental design. His recent research projects are on the community regeneration evaluation index for the elderly. He had also done projects on design strategies for accessible signs.
Jia Weiyang hold the professional Bachelor and Master’s Degrees in Architecture and the Doctor of Engineering from Tianjin University. He is chief editor or participating expert of several national and industry standards on accessible and age-friendly design.
