Dr. Zhao Di is an associate professor of the Department of Landscape Architecture at the School of Architecture, Tianjin University. Her main research field is the imperial garden of the Qing dynasty, cultural heritage protection and community building as well as public participation. She currently teaches the following courses; the Basis of Building Design, Landscape Planning and Design, Chinese garden history and Participatory design concepts and practices, etc. Dr Zhao was in a leadership position from 2012-2014, which saw her being responsible for the youth project founded by The Research of Historic Intact and Restoration of Plant Landscapes in the Summer Palace, National Natural Science Foundation of China. She also hosted one provincial-level scientific research project and participated in more than 10 scientific research projects at both national and provincial levels. She was awarded the title of Tianjin University Beiyang scholar and young excellent teacher in 2016.
Zhao Di holds both Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Architecture Landscape and a Doctorate in Engineering from Beijing Forestry University. She spent January to October 2014 as a visiting researcher at the Department of Architecture of the Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands.
