Research fields: urban stormwater management, landscape ecological planning and design
Dr Dongdong teaches on the green infrastructure technology and design strategies, with a focus on climate responsive and low impact development design strategies. Her recent research projects are on the integration of landscape design, hydrology, ecological restoration with the water environment design, and the numerical simulation methods and tools to improve urban water environment. She has also partaken in projects on China’s sponge city, urban river system planning and water environment recovery.
Dr Dongdong holds a professional Bachelor’s Degree of Hydrology, a Master’s and Doctoral Degree in Landscape Architecture from Tianjin University. Whilst studying towards her Ph.D., Yang went on an exchange program at Queen’s University from 2011-2012, where she started her research topic on urban stormwater management. She has since revisited Queen’s University as a guest researcher for two consecutive years; 2018 and 2019 .
