Wang Hongcheng is a Landscape architecture professor at the School of Architecture, Tianjin University. He also serves as the Director of the Institute of Landscape Architecture. His main research field is Landscape design of urban street scenery and low-carbon landscape theory. He is currently teaching the following course; Introduction to Landscape Architecture’an introductory course for freshmen to gain a better understand of the subject. Additionally, he also guides Undergraduate graduation design for environmental art and teaches Postgraduate design standards and specifications for landscape architecture in the University.
Professor Hongcheng obtained his Bachelor’s degree from the Beijing Forestry University and a Master of law qualification from the Party School of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China. As an experienced Landscape architect, he has completed many design works both domestically as well as abroad and has won multiple national and provincial awards in China. He is now working on various research topics on urban Street Scenery, landscape design elements, low-carbon landscape theory and design practice, landscape ecological restoration and reconstruction. Over and above, he also serves in various academic and professional institutions and associations, as well as several academic journals. He is currently the Chairman of the Urban Greening Professional Committee of the Chinese Society of Landscape Architecture.
