Research Theme: Multi-Planning Integration, Spatial Planning Theory and
Methodology
Dr. Zuo Wei is an Associate Professor in School of Architecture, Tianjin University. He is also the guest editor and reviewer of several interdisciplinary journals with the scopes including spatial planning subjects, such as International Review for Spatial Planning and Sustainable Development (IRSPSD).
His main research fields include Multi-Planning Integration, Spatial Planning Theory and Methodology, especially focusing on the research question of how to form a better mechanism to organize multiple spatial plans and planning system in order, aka the “One Blueprint” problem, to achieve a better spatial governance. Additionally, he engages in discovering new technique application on urban & rural space feature perception and analytics.
Around above research fields, he has published more than 25 academic papers, and most of them are top or core journals in China and beyond, such as Urban Planning Review (CSSCI). He has won several awards for the study on spatial planning theory, such as Youth Paper Contest of Urban Planning Society of China, Excellent PhD Dissertation of Tsinghua University etc.
Up to 2022, he has directed 1 social science research project on Multi-Planning Integration, and has participated more than 3 scientific research projects, including Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), National Key Research and Development Program of China, and research funded by Ministry of Justice of the People's Republic of China etc
