Zeng Jian is a Professor of Architecture, director of the Academic Committee of the School of Architecture of Tianjin University, the director of the Eco-city and Green Building Research Center, and the director of the Tianjin Coastal Area Security and Smart Disaster Prevention Base.
He stayed in Tianjin University and served as a teacher after he graduated in 1987, which means he has been teaching for more than 30 years. His research fields include contemporary architectural design and urban planning theory, architectural design and planning methods based on digital technology, green building design and ecological planning theory, coastal urban planning theory, coastal city disaster reduction, and disaster prevention and ecological forewarning. His seminar course ‘Ecological planning theory and green urban design methodology ’(master's programme), ‘Chinese and foreign urban planning theory and development ’(doctoral programme). His current research contents include urban ecological security research based on big data or digital technologies such as GIS and RS, and research on prevention and control planning for rapid urbanization-derived disasters.
