Zhang He is a Professor and Doctoral tutor at the School of Architecture, Tianjin University. In his teaching role, he is responsible for 6 core courses for both undergraduate and graduate students in the Urban and Rural Planning Department. His teaching achievements have seen him being a recipient of the following awards; the Innovation and Entrepreneurship advanced individual in Tianjin award, the Shen Zhikang Scholarship of Tianjin University, Education Advanced Worker of Tianjin University and Youth Teacher Demonstration Post of Tianjin University, to name a few.
As an accomplished professional, he has plenty of Scientific achievements, such as being a visiting Scholar at the University of North Carolina in America, belonging to the Experts of the State Council Committee for Urban and Rural Planning Terminology Review , Member of the Urban Design Branch of the Architectural Society of China, Member of the Youth Work Committee of the China Urban Planning Society, Deputy Director of the Small Town Planning Professional Committee of Tianjin Urban Planning Association and Deputy Chairman of the Youth Work Committee. He has presided over various projects, namely; a national key R&D project, 2 national fund projects, 6 provincial and ministerial funds, and has participated in 1 national major social science project and 3 other national funds. He has published more than 40 academic papers, including more than 10 papers by CSSCI and CSCD. Zhang has also won the National Excellent Urban and Rural Planning and Design Award and 2 provincial Excellent Urban and Rural Planning and Design Awards. Furthermore, he is an awarded honorary of Beiyang Scholars in Tianjin University and Young Key Teachers.
