Cai Liangwa is an Associate Professor at the School of Architecture, Tianjin University where she obtained her Doctoral Degree in Urban Planning in 2006. She teaches the following courses; “Architectural Design” and “Urban and architectural aesthetics”. Her main research subjects are as follows; the study of architectural aesthetics under the Chinese context, the tactics study of integration of the historic district, the optimization study of public safety evacuation in old high-density residential areas. Her representative works include "The constructed and theoretical analysis of architectural aesthetics systems under the Chinese context" (2008, ZENG Jian, CAI Liangwa), "Architectural aesthetics" (2010, ZENG Jian, CAI Liangwa).
As a project team leader, Cai empowers herself by studying career related research projects, such as the National Natural Science Foundation of China “Optimization study on safety evacuation in old residential areas based on GIS and spatial-time congestion degree”, Social Science Foundation of ministry of education “ Studies of aesthetic concepts and artistic expression of parametric architectural design” and Art and Planning Fund of Tianjin “Integration Strategies of continuity of historical culture in Tianjin based on new media technology”.
