Dr. Zheng is currently an Associate Professor at the School of Architecture, Tianjin University and is one of IRC/CCHC’s assistant directors. Graduated from Tianjin University in 1996, Dr Zheng obtained a master’s degree at Nagoya University, as well as a doctoral degree at the University of Tokyo in Japan.
Dr Zheng is currently a member of ICOMOS, prior to this she held the position of Assistant Professor at Urban Environmental Design Course of Aichi Shukutoku University in Japan.
Her research field is in the urban regeneration of historic areas, historic urban landscape of Tianjin, which is one of the most important modern cities in China. Her research is specifically focused on the urban planning of Tianjin from the 1860s to 1940s, the typological process study of Tianjin Lilong Housing, and urban transformation from the 1860s to present times by the methodology of urban morphology.
