Wang Zhigang is an Associate Professor of architecture at the School of Architecture, Tianjin University. He also serves as the associate director of the Prefabricated Building Research Centre and TJU-JGS Rural Construction Research Centre of the School. His main research includes Vernacular architecture, Prefabricated building, High density inhabitant pattern and Digital design. He teaches design studio on ‘Modern interpretation of traditional dwelling and settlement’, focusing on learning from vernacular architecture in space, tectonic and ecological, and applying to new design in digital and prefab mode. As a registered architect and the main architect of A+A Studio, his works have been developed and featured in publications, such as Jinzhai CR Hope Town(Anhui,China.2012-2016), Jinggangshan CR Hope Town(Jiangxi, China. 2013-2017) and Fulixing Library of Tianjin University(Tianjin, China.2015).
Wang Zhigang received his Architecture Bachelor’s degree as well as his Doctoral degree from Tianjin University and received his Master’s degree from Tsinghua University. He worked as visiting scholar at the University of Michigan(2018) and as a senior researcher at the City University of Hong Kong(2009).
