Wang Lijun is a Professor at the School of Architecture of Tianjin University. Her teaching and research engagements over the years have been about the reciprocity and integration of architectural typology and urban morphology. In recent years, she has also expanded her research interests to the urban and community public space regeneration for the aged in the healthy perspective. Pro. Wang has been a visiting scholar at the Architecture School of the University of Virginia (USA) from 2010-2011, advanced visiting scholar at the National University of Singapore in 2019, and advanced visiting scholar at the University of Tokyo in 2020 all by CSC founded.
In 2003, Pro. Wang obtained her Ph.D. degree of Architectural Design and Theory from Tianjin University, supervised by Academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences Peng Yigang. The book “Architectural Typology”, based on her doctoral dissertation, was published as the textbook of the 11th Five-Year Plan of the Ministry of Education in January 2011. The Third Edition, republished as the national textbook of the 13th Five-Year Plan in 2019. In 2021, She wined the First China National Textbook Construction Award Excellence graduate textbook. She translated 7 foreign theoretical works, include “World Architectural History Series - Romanesque Architecture” (1999, won 13th China Book Award in 2002), “Architecture and allied design” (2009), “Architecture, Landscape and Memory” (2015). She also served as the special subject deputy editor of “Regional Architecture” in the “Architectural Design Handbook” (Third Edition).
Wang Lijun is also a First-Class National Registered Architect of China. She runs the Urban Architecture Design Studio in the Tianjin University research Institute of Architectural Design & Urban Planning. Her works covered schools, museums, residence, urban design and cityscape studies. She has won many significant Design Awards, such as the Architectural society of China excellent architectural creation Award at the 60th anniversary of the PRC in 2009; the first prize for Excellent Urban and Rural Planning and Design in Hebei Province in 2013; the first prize for Tianjin Excellent Urban and Rural Planning and Design in 2017; the third prize for Excellent Investigation and Design in Haihe River Cup of Tianjin in 2018; and the third prize for National Excellent Urban and Rural Planning and Design in 2018.
