Dr. REN Jun is an Associate Professor of Architecture at the School of Architecture of Tianjin University. His research direction is architectural design methodology, architectural aesthetic research, memorial architecture and public architectural design research. As a design studio teacher, he emphasizes on the cultivation of the students' correct architectural concept and aesthetic standards, and on raising the basic level of professional skills. Combining teaching and practice, he leads graduate students to participate in various types of project. In “L&R Architecture Design Studio” he teaches his students the ability to do numerous projects including planning of school campuses, commercial centers and educational and scientific research buildings, and so forth. He teaches the students ways on how to tackle all kinds of difficulties and challenges that come with being involved in actual projects. His design works and publications have won national and provincial awards in Mainland China.
REN holds a Bachelor and Master’s Degree in Architecture and a Doctor of Engineering degree from Tianjin University. From 2006-2007, he visited McGill University in Canada where he was a visiting scholar.
