Dr. LI Xinze is an Architecture lecturer at the School of Architecture, Tianjin University. Her main research field is traditional ancient fort-type settlements, planning of ancient settlements, in relation to administrative organizations; socialization; culture; political factors; economy; etc. Carrying out interdisciplinary research is an important path in taking the analysis into depth. Through her research,she hopes to find some useful traditional organizations to manage recently developed communities. In addition,the traditional fort-type settlements face the danger of being destroyed. She is willing to find ways to protect them,therefore systematic further research is an urgent necessity. In addition to being a researcher, Dr Xinze, also teaches in “L&R Architecture Design Studio” to do numerous projects including planning of school campuses, commercial centers and educational and scientific research buildings, and so forth.
LI Xinze obtained her Bachelor and Master’s Degrees in Architecture and the Doctor of Engineering degree from Tianjin University. From 2006-2007 she visited McGill University in Canada where she was a visiting scholar and she also visited the University of British Columbia from 2015-2016 where she was a guest researcher.
