Dr. Huang Qiong is an Associate Professor of Architecture at the School of Architecture, Tianjin University, a position she has held since 2003. She obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Architecture and the Doctor of Engineering degree from Tianjin University. She was also a visiting professor at Ball State University in the US for a period of 12 months. In 2016, Dr Huang co-founded the Research Center for Sustainable Building and Environment of the School and serves as the Co-Director.
Dr Huang’s main research field is sustainable building, with high quality building environment and low energy consumption and environmental impact, based on lab experiments and multi-objective stimulation-optimization research. Her academic achievements include publishing 50 journal articles and 23 conference papers. As a result of her outstanding research work, she has won the Young Researcher Awards, given by CIB (International Council for Research and Innovation in Building and Construction) for two consecutive years, 2011 and 2012.
Dr Huang serves in various academic associations, including CIB, IBPSA, and serves as a Facilities Sub-Committee member at Wellington College International, Tianjin. She is also a national registered Architect, with more than 10 years of practical architecture design experience.
