Over the past five years, the School of Architecture has jointly completed the National Science and Technology Program for International Exchange and Cooperation titled “Key Technologies of Low-carbon Cities and Green Architectural Design” (2014–2017) with Cardiff University and two German research institutions; another related venture is the “China–Europe Promotion of Low Carbon Demonstration Town Development Project” (2014–2015) funded by the China Energy Administration and Development and Reform Commission.
In addition, we cooperated with Texas A&M University to work on a National Natural Science Foundation project titled “Systematic Building Energy-efficient Optimization based on Parametric Information Modeling” (2016-2018), and successfully pursued the project “Methodology for the application of GIS to Regional Cultural Heritage” (2018–2020) funded by the China-Montenegro Science and Technology Exchange Mechanism (Ministry of Science and Technology).
In addition to the research projects jointly funded by China and foreign countries, our faculty also participates in several collaborative projects financed by international organizations and foundations: for example, the IEA-EBC Annex 72 project “Assessing Environmental Impacts in a Building’s Life Cycle” (2017–2021), and the EU cooperation project “Sustainable Building Design and Operation”, among others.
