The L&R STUDIO, a creative design studio also known as Ren Jun Studio, is the fourth studio in the Architectural Creation Center of the School of Architecture, Tianjin University.
Founded in 2010, the Studio consists of associate professor Ren Jun, young teachers, postgraduate students and interns, maintaining the scale of 12-15 staff. Until now, the Studio has cultivated nearly 30 graduates, most of whom work in design institutes of large state-owned enterprises in Beijing, Shanghai and Tianjin, and have gradually become the backbones of their working units.
The studio is dedicated to the research on types and design methods of public buildings, architectural aesthetics, and memorial architecture design. From the needs of mind, body, nature and society, it aims to construct the order of and establish a balanced and vibrant relationship among space, time and form. In constant practice, the Studio tries to find a new definition of contemporary architecture between China’s tradition and future.
The Studio is mainly engaged in public buildings design in business, exhibition, transportation, medical treatment and teaching, and some creative planning and interior design. It is also a teaching base for production, education and research
