On November 22,2020, the annual meeting and award ceremony of "The 6th China Living Environment Design Award of 2020" organized by Tsinghua University and Teaching Guidance Committee of Design Major in Colleges and Universities of the Ministry of Education, was held in Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts.
The School of Architecture from Tianjin University won one gold medal in landscape design group, one silver medal in interior design group, one excellence award in urban design group. The school was also honored with the best organization award.
As an academic exchange platform for urban and rural planning, architecture, landscape architecture, environmental art, interior design, art design and other majors, the competition has been successfully held for six sessions, and has become very influential in the field of human living environment.
Themed on "The Growth of Space", this year’s competition strove to find answers to questions like "how to provide sufficient possibilities for the growth of space?.
A total of 2,096 works were submitted and more than 500 colleges and universities participated in the competition. After preliminary review and recheck, 204 works were finally selected for final review, including 30 works about urban design, 53 works about architectural design, 57 works of landscape design and 64 works of interior design.
An evaluation committee of 19 experts including Zhuang Weimin, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, and Mao Qizhi, academician of the Eurasian Academy of Sciences were formed and after careful discussion selected out 13 gold prizes, 25 silver prizes, 45 bronze awards and 121 excellent awards.
