Professor KANG Jian, the Honorary Dean of the School of Architecture, has been elected as a member of Academia Europaea.
He was elected on the basis of his work in environmental and architectural acoustics, across Sections of Physics and Engineering Sciences, and Human Mobility, Governance, Environment and Space.
Professor Kang works at the Bartlett Faculty of the Built Environment, University College London, UK. He is also a Fellow of Royal Academy of Engineering. He has been the Honorary Dean of Tianjin University’s School of Architecture since 2019.
Initiated by the Royal Society and founded in 1988, the Academia Europaea is the Pan-European Academy of Sciences, Humanities and Letters, with a membership of over 4,500 eminent scholars, drawn from all disciplines, nationalities and geographical locations. Seventy-two of the members are Nobel Laureates. The aim of the Academy is to promote European research, advise governments and international organizations in scientific matters, and further interdisciplinary and international research.
