From September 4-6, 2024, Tianjin University's School of Architecture was invited to participate in the 60th Annual Congress of the International Federation of Landscape Architects (IFLA), held in Istanbul, Turkey. Founded by Sir Geoffrey Jellicoe (1900 - 1996) in 1948 in Cambridge, England, IFLA is a premier global organization representing landscape architects worldwide. It plays a pivotal role in promoting landscape architecture and its contributions to sustainable development. The IFLA Annual Congress is one of the most prestigious academic events in the field, attracting experts and scholars from around the world to discuss the latest developments and challenges in landscape architecture.
During the conference, Professor Ying Li, a representative from Tianjin University's School of Architecture, not only chaired a thematic sub-forum but also presented her research through a poster session, showcasing her latest work to global peers.

Ying chaired the sub-forum titled "Engaging with the Digital: Innovation, Technology & Big Data." The forum invited several internationally renowned experts and scholars to discuss the challenges and opportunities faced by landscape and architecture in the context of climate change and urbanization. Through in-depth discussions, the participants shared their latest research findings and practical experiences in their respective fields, promoting academic exchange and collaboration in the global landscape and architecture sectors.

Ying expressed that chairing this important forum was not only an affirmation of her academic capabilities but also recognition of Tianjin University's influence in the international landscape and architecture fields. Her performance during the forum was highly praised by the participating experts, bringing more international attention to the School of Architecture.
Before joining Tianjin University in 2024, Ying served as the Head of the Landscape Architecture Department at a university in the United Kingdom. Her extensive experience and leadership in the field have greatly contributed to her current role at Tianjin University.
