Oriental Landscape and Heritage Research Center

On January 5, 2022, the Board of School of Architecture, Tianjin University approved the establishment of “Oriental Landscape and Heritage Research Center” (hereinafter referred to as the “Center”). The Center is headed by Professor Roland Lin Chih-Hung, School of Architecture, Tianjin University and the main members are young and middle-aged teachers and doctoral students of Tianjin University. Cooperating with scholars from universities and research institutions in China and abroad, the Center is committed to the protection and transmission of oriental landscape and heritage research. 

The Center will be constructed in accordance with the advanced concepts and scientific standards of global vision and world heritage preservation, with heritage protection and regional landscape planning as the theoretical basis and in an international and multidisciplinary research approach to explore the theoretical research and practical issues on the relationship between cultural landscape heritage protection and sustainable urban development. It will also promote academic publications and exchanges, innovative long-term mechanisms for cultural landscape heritage protection and management and build an international academic and technical exchange platform.The Center is established with the goal of "pursuing first-class level, focusing on the main direction, striving for breakthroughs in the frontier, solving important problems, and building first-class talents", and will promote the scientific disciplinary development with a global perspective, conduct in-depth discussions and academic research on the special value of oriental cultural landscape, make efforts for relevant personnel training and talent construction, and strive to become the cornerstone of Chinese national cultural landscape and Asian heritage protection research development.
