On February 25th, the establishment conference ofThe Rural Construction University Alliance, The Special Committee of Rural Living Environment and The 2023 Rural Living Environment Academic Forum were held at Tianjin University. 

Liu Huanxin, Deputy Director of the Central Agricultural Office, director of the State and Rural Revitalization Bureau; Xie Yuan, deputy mayor of Tianjin; Guo Yong, leader of the alliance of rural construction universities; Yang Xianjin, secretary of the party committee of Tianjin University, Wang Tianyou, vice president of Tianjin University, and Nie Xinpeng and Zhan Ling, director and deputy director of Division on national rural revitalization of the Bureau of Development and Guidance; He Bin, deputy director of the Promotion of Rural Social Institutes, together with more than 100 experts in the field of architecture, urban planning, landscape from well-known universities attended the conference.The background, the significance, and the direction and focus of future work were clarified at the conference. 

The Special Committee consists of an assembly of members, a panel of experts, an academic committee, and a secretariat. During the first meeting of the academic committee of the Special Committee, Zhu Ling was elected as the Director of the Special Committee, Song Kun and 11 other experts as Deputy Directors, with 30 standing members, 47 members and 18 academic members.7 experts, including Mr Feng Jicai and academician Cui Kai, were appointed as consultants. The first batch of members consisted of 67 universities in architecture, landscape and other disciplines, covering all provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities except Tibet, Guizhou and Ningxia.  Following the establishment ceremony, He Bin and Nie Xinpeng each gave a special lecture. 

At the Rural Living Environment Academic Forum, many professors, including professor Zeng Peng, Vice Dean of the School of Architecture of Tianjin University, shared their reports on related subjects.

In the future, the special committee will continue to carry out discussions on“Promoting the key work of rural revitalization and focusing closely on the major issues of rural construction”, provide intellectual support for research on rural construction policies, theories, methodologies, standards, demonstration of technology integration, construction of cooperation platforms etc., so as to provide academic support for a livable, beautiful, and sustainable rural environment and the promotion of rural revitalization.
