On the evening of October 24, the Opening Ceremony of Tianjin Architecture Week was held in Tianjin University. The ceremony was chaired by Song Kun, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Architecture, Tianjin University. Kong Yuhang, Dean of the School of Architecture, Tianjin University, gave an introduction of this academic activity. Many guests were invited to attend the ceremony, including academician Liu Jiaping of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Pritzker Prize judge Benedetta Tagliabue, and consulting professor Sun Jiwei of the School of Architecture and Urban Planning of Tongji University. The purpose of this academic week is to re-examine the current status of contemporary Chinese architectural education and practice.

Contemporary Architecture Education released at the ceremony is an academic journal co-sponsored by the School of Architecture of Tianjin University and the "Urban• Environment• Design" (UED) Magazine Press. The original intention of founding the journal was to establish a high-level academic platform, so as to promote architectural education to a new era of diversification.
