Dr. Zhang Fengwu holds the position of associate professor of Architecture, at Tianjin University. He also serves as the deputy director of the Institute of Architectural History and Theory at the School of Architecture, and is the deputy director of the Key Scientific Research Base of Historic Building Survey and Recording Tianjin University State Administration of Cultural Heritage.
Dr. Zhang received his PhD in engineering as well his Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees of Architecture from Tianjin University. He is currently working on the collection of heritage information, the study on Yang Shi Lei archives, Ming and Qing royal gardens and other aspects of research. He teaches ancient architecture, surveying and heritage conservation courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Dr. Zhang is a published academic who has published in numerous academic journals both locally and abroad. He is also an experienced and responsible architect in architecture design and heritage protection. His design works have won provincial awards in China.
His research focuses on architectural history and heritage protection, focusing on the style of Yang Shi Lei archives, the history of the Ming and Qing imperial gardens, the art of gardening, and the collection of heritage information.
