Wang Qiao is a national registered urban planner. She is a lecturer and master instructor of Urban Planning at the School of Architecture, Tianjin University. She is the director assistant of Eco-city and Green Building Research Center of Architecture school; research secretary of the Small-Town Planning and Development Institute of Architecture school; the member of the Academic Work Committee, Urban Security and Disaster Prevention Committee, Small-Town Planning Committee, and Youth Working Committee of Tianjin Urban Planning Association. She received Doctor Degree of Urban Planning from Tianjin University and was the visiting scholar of National University of Singapore.
Her main research fields include comprehensive disaster prevention and mitigation, resilient city, and ecological urban design. Up to 2018, she has hosted 7 scientific research projects, including Natural Science Foundation of China(NSFC), Natural Science Foundation of Tianjin, etc. and has participated in 14 scientific research projects including the Key Project of Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), Social Science Foundation of China, etc. With 7 books (2 as the main author and 5 participated editing) and nearly 30 academic papers published, she has won the SHENZHIKANG Faculty Fellowship of Tianjin University and the Teaching and Educating Prize of Outstanding Youth (Faculty) Award of Tianjin University. Besides, four academic papers have won outstanding paper awards; six practical projects have won the national and provincial design awards; as guiding teacher, 14 planning design projects of student have won international and domestic competitions.
