January 23-24, 2025, the delegation from School of Architecture from Tianjin University (hereinafter “TJU-Archi”) participated in Chiang Mai University 60th Anniversary Celebration and Rector's Forum on “Navigating the Future of Higher Education”. During the celebration ceremony, Chiang Mai University is in an important place in the field of education in Thailand and is always focusing on the society for its development. After full communication and negotiation, TJU-Archi and the School of Architecture of Chiang Mai University (hereinafter “CMU-Archi”) reached a tacit agreement to sign a Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation.


The dean of CMU-Archi came to Tianjin at March 23, 2025 with the purpose to sign the MoU with TJU-Archi. In the morning of March 24, the participants were Professor Pandin Ounchanum, the Dean of CMU-Archi, Professor Xinnan Zhang, the Executive Vice Dean of TJU-Archi, Professor Wei Yang, the Vice Dean (Foreign Affairs) of TJU-Archi, Professor Ling Zhu, the head of the Department of Landscape Architecture from TJU-Archi, Professor Rui Zhang, the Assistant Dean of TJU-Archi, Associate Professor Shanchao Xin, the associate head of the Department of Landscape Architecture from TJU-Archi, Associate Professor Qingpeng LI of the Institute of Building Construction from TJU-Archi, Associate Professor Anxiao Zhang of the Department of Landscape Architecture from TJU-Archi, and Yu Qin, the Foreign Affairs Secretary from TJU-Archi. The TJU-Archi leaders expressed interest in the next step of collaborating with CMU-Archi, potentially in architecture and landscape design. A desire to share expertise in new technologies, accessibility, and collaborative workshops, particularly in landscape architecture is emphasized. Upcoming plans for master's programs and international cooperation, including proposals for open calls for participation in design and technical studies related to sustainable building materials like bamboo were also being discussed.
