On September 20, 2024, Robyn Phipps, Dean of the Wellington Faculty of Architecture and Design Innovation, and Andre Brown, Associate Dean, visited the School of Architecture at Tianjin University. Attendees from the School of Architecture included Associate Party Secretary Chunyan Zhang, Associate Head of School Xinnan Zhang, Associate Head of School Wei Yang, and Assistant Director of the Division of Academic Quality Management Li Ying, who provided valuable support in fostering the collaboration between Tianjin University (TJU) and Victoria University of Wellington (UVW). Representatives from various disciplines also participated in the meeting. The visit aimed to promote academic exchanges and strengthen cooperation between the two institutions, with a focus on opportunities in research, teaching, and other collaborative initiatives.

During the session, the experts engaged in comprehensive academic discussions with faculty members from the School of Architecture. The conversations covered cutting-edge topics in the fields of Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Urban Planning, and Environmental Design. Participants explored current research trends, emerging frontiers, and practical applications in scientific research. Scholars from both institutions shared their research achievements and actively participated in dynamic exchanges, emphasizing academic collaboration and enhanced student training programs.

This meeting not only reinforced the connections and professional ties between the two institutions but also injected fresh energy into the development of joint research initiatives. The New Zealand delegation introduced advanced academic concepts and innovative research methodologies, while the productive and cordial interactions further solidified the collaborative relationship between scholars from both countries.
